EXPECTATION FOR CLASS: I walk into class quietly, read article for 10 minutes. The, I should always be working in Odyssey or ACT Explorer.  The classroom should always be quiet during Content Literacy time. 
Assign Yourself:  Quiz on Articles 3-7, next Thursday Quiz
Do Now: Read Article 3-4
OBJECTIVE: Today I will continue on Compass Odyssey lessons or ACT Explorer.

Shorter schedule today with pep rally schedule.
2. 6th Grade Continue in Compass Odyssey when you are done with quiz.
2. 7th Grade-Compass Odyssey-Continue in Math 3rd period/5th ELA
2. 7th Grade-ACT Prep- Record your score and work on lowest score improvement.(35 min)
2. 8th Grade-Continue on Compass Odyssey in ELA
2. 9th Grade- ACT prep in Shmoop Casares Class, Compass Odyssey-Biology all other classes.
3. Return laptop & continue reading quietly.(5 min).

Write previous days, into your binder NOW!   Sylvan will be by Friday to pick up and check your progress, too.

3. WORDSMITH : (15 min) FIRST SORT, add all words under YES that you KNOW, DROP IN

4. GOALS FOR THE WEEK: Finish 1/2 of the English section.

ACT PREP-

OBJECTIVES: Today I will learn how to use the act prep online program.  This program will be available to you for an entire year!!  If you reach a perfect score between now and your junior year you will be awarded a $1000 scholarship from Sylvan.

You must continue with your Sample Essay for ACT.  You should have complete at least one page today.  I currently only have 27/30.  Once everyone signs into their Google DOC, I will read off those students who I already have received.

SAMPLE PROMPT-->Educators debate extending high school to five years because of increasing demands on students from employers and colleges to participate in extracurricular activities and community service in addition to having high grades. Some educators support extending high school to five years because they think students need more time to achieve all that is expected of them. Other educators do not support extending high school to five years because they think students would lose interest in school and attendance would drop in the fifth year. In your opinion, should high school be extended to five years?
In your essay, take a position on this question. You may write about either one of the two points of view given, or you may present a different point of view on this question. Use specific reasons and examples to support your position.
