1.  Sample 6-ACT Prep

Today we will evaluate sample writing 6.  We will finish early and you will create a google doc and begin your first writing sample and email to me 4hinojosa@gmail.com  the shared link so I can check on your progress daily.

Sample Prompt

Educators debate extending high school to five years because of increasing demands on students from employers and colleges to participate in extracurricular activities and community service in addition to having high grades. Some educators support extending high school to five years because they think students need more time to achieve all that is expected of them. Other educators do not support extending high school to five years because they think students would lose interest in school and attendance would drop in the fifth year. In your opinion, should high school be extended to five years?
In your essay, take a position on this question. You may write about either one of the two points of view given, or you may present a different point of view on this question. Use specific reasons and examples to support your position.

ACT PREP- This is for advanced students only so you were selected by your 9th grade team as someone who is advanced in all areas.  This means you can prepare to be one of the elite few who score 24+ on your ACT for the first time!!

FACTS
1.  We will have curriculum online &/or books like all of the Juniors & Seniors in ACT prep.
2.  IDEA CP goal is to have more students score 24+ and we are allowing only my lab full of 32 students participate.
3.  You must be serious about this time. We will be keeping track of your progress.

TUESDAY 11/1-WELCOME NOUVEAU PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

1.  Class begins at 2:04
2.  Tardy=demerit or detention depending on how many tardies you already have for the day.
3.  Pick up Folder
4.  DO NOW; Fill out or revise your PD Plan for the day
5.  Begin work ONLY THOSES with A PASS MAY ask to leave to their PD class they need to develop more from.
6.  You must complete the plan at your desk before you come and asked to get it stamped to go elsewhere
7. PASSES ON B DAY ONLY.
8. ALL STAMPS ALL WEEEK= YOUR TIME THURSDAY/FRIDAY
9.  Consequences for missing PD stamps= WW/Detention.
